LOUISVILLE, Ky. – One year after 5-year-old Claudia Wadlington and 4-year-old Riley Lawrence were killed in a hit and run accident near the University of Louisville’s Belknap Campus, the Woman’s Club of Louisville has created a memorial scholarship in their honor to support autistic children who want to attend the university’s STAR program’s social skills camps. The two girls volunteered as typical peers for one week of the camp which ended only hours before the accident occurred.

“Claudia and Riley spent a week with us last year playing with the campers and helping them learn new skills. We’re proud to honor their memory with this scholarship fund,”said Diane Stuckert, a former Woman’s Club president and a member of the STAR autism treatment program advisory board.
