Asian studies symposium examines Japanese political economy

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A free, public symposium March 23 at the University of Louisville will examine “Japanese Political Economy.”

    The third annual Calvin and Helen Lang Asian Studies Symposium will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with sessions in the Chao Auditorium, Ekstrom Library, on the Belknap Campus.

    Speakers from several universities, colleges and the U.S. Naval War College will discuss topics including Japan’s foreign policy, digital television, energy policy, development model and its economic ties with South Korea.

    The UofL Asian studies program offers the symposium with co-sponsors Asia Institute-Crane House and the Friends of Asian Studies group.
