UofL is selling the posters to benefit student scholarships.
“Fans flocked to UofL social media sites in record numbers during the Sugar Bowl,” said Jeff Rushton, UofL’s director of social media. “We’re hoping we can extend that excitement to these posters, which include thousands of pictures of fans in New Orleans and at the game.”
One of the posters features a Cardinal head made up of more than 1,600 photos of fans. The other is an image of a teddy bear, which also contains more than 1,600 photos – 600 from the football team’s autograph-signing celebration at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium and 1,000 from game action. Fans who purchase the posters will be linked to a Web page where they can enlarge the photos by holding a computer mouse cursor over each picture.
“We think fans will get a kick out of seeing themselves and their friends embedded in these posters,” Rushton said.
The Sugar Bowl posters join the already popular “Cards Come Marching In” poster that shows seven UofL players, in uniform, who appear to be standing in the middle of Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
All of the posters are available for $10 online; $9 of every sale goes to student scholarships. The other $1 will be used to cover production costs.
