    1.) Griff, others to celebrate Dress in Blue Day March 7

    Former UofL basketball star Darrell Griffith will join Madeleine Abramson, wife of Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson, and “The Voice of the Cards,” Paul Rodgers, for “Blue of L Day” at noon today at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center. The celebrities will visit and distribute blue t-shirts to patients. The Kentucky Cancer Program encourages individuals or groups to take photos of themselves in blue and email it to them as part of a contest. For more information, go to the KCP-West Facebook page.

    2.) Save the Date: Faculty/staff invited to fight cancer at Relay for Life

    6 p.m. April 18 – 6 a.m., April 19, Multipurpose Room, Student Activities Center

    UofL’s American Cancer Society student group invites all faculty, staff and UofL community to battle against cancer at the eighth annual Relay for Life fundraiser. There will be fun, family-friendly activities such as a hypnotist performance, student booths and dance parties. For more information about the fundraiser, visit UofL’s Relay for Life group page or contact American Cancer Society’s Tressa Neal at 502-560-0642.

    3.) LALS program taking donations for Kentucky Refugee Ministries

    The Latin American and Latino Studies Program is collecting items for KRM that will be given to incoming refugee families. For more information and a complete list of items, please visit louisville.edu/latinamericanstudies.

    4.) GO College seeking residence counselors

    June 22 – July 2; July 7 – 8; July 10 – 11; and July 14 – 16

    Enjoy working with youth?  GO College wants you. Enjoy an eventful summer as a residence counselor June 22– July 2, July 7-8, July 10-11 and July 14-16. You will stay on campus with the GO College students; go on college tours; interact with the GO College students; and chaperone field trips. To be that positive role model, you must submit your resume to Briaunna Polk by March 11. You may do so by email at briaunna.polk@louisville.edu, by fax at 852-1455 or by  bringing it to the Office of Community Engagement, Suite 100, Administrative Annex. Pay is $12/hour.     5.) CEHD students, faculty spending Spring Break working in Belize

    March 7 to March 16

    Fourteen College of Education and Human Development students will participate in the International Teaching Experience in Belize. With the leadership of Margaret Pentecost, PhD, as well as Todd Brown, PhD, and three other staff members, students will spend six full days working in two primary schools and one high school. This is the first CEHD group going to Belize this year. The second group will go to Belize between April 26 and May 8. Visit our blog.
