5.) Transforming the Teaching and Learning Environment: the PASSHE virtual conference

The Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning has purchased an institutional license to Transforming the Teaching and Learning Environment: the PASSHE Virtual Conference. This license provides unlimited access for all faculty and staff to 60 one-hour online sessions on topics from Emerging Technologies to Organizational Best Practices to Mobile Learning, and more. All sessions will be recorded.

6.) Upcoming Kornhauser Library exhibit: ‘Life and Limb: The Toll of the American Civil War’ Feb. 17 – March 29, Kornhauser Library, Health Sciences Center
More than 3 million soldiers fought in the war from 1861-1865. More than half a million died, and almost as many were wounded. Hundreds of thousands were permanently disabled by battlefield injuries or surgery, which saved lives by sacrificing limbs. “Life and Limb: The Toll of the Civil War” explores the experiences of disabled Civil War veterans who served as a symbol of the fractured nation and a stark reminder of the costs of the conflict.

Department of Medicine Grand Rounds features Kathrin LaFaver, MD, assistant professor of neurology at UofL. LaFaver will present “Tremors, Jerks and Wobbly Gait: Update on Functional Movement Disorders,” focusing on identifying clinical manifestation of functional/psychogenic neurologic symptoms, learning about neuroimaging and other research findings, as well as treatment approaches of functional neurologic disorders.
