    “Commedia Cannon!” is a production directed by Theatre Arts Assistant Professor Erin Crites that stars UofL students Alex Cooper, James Thompson, Megg Ward, Darren Harbour and Danielle Warren. It was a critic’s pick last week in The Courier-Journal. The show, produced by Savage Rose Classical Theatre Company, opens Friday and runs through Dec. 14.

    Did you know the Get Healthy Now Wellness Center offers group fitness classes on Saturdays? Start your weekend off right with our Functional Fitness (9:30 to 10:15 a.m.) and BootCamp Express (1 to 1:30 p.m.) classes. Enjoy a workout designed to nourish your spine, revitalize your postural muscles, and strengthen your core with Functional Fitness and don’t miss a beat with a shortened version of our always popular interval training BootCamp class.     3.) University websites must upgrade to Plone 4 by Dec. 23

    Departments have until Dec. 23 to rebuild their websites in the upgraded Plone 4 system. The new system features tripled speed, mobile-friendly design, Adobe Flash integration and more. Register for Plone 4 training here.

    IT’s Design & Printing now provides services for creating, editing or migrating your Plone website using an OCM-created theme. For more information contact Shelia Marable, assistant manager/web team leader.

    4.) Blackboard to be upgraded during the December holiday break

    Blackboard will be upgraded over winter break. Blackboard will be unavailable from 10 p.m. Dec. 19 to 5 p.m. Dec. 22. This version will introduce several new features, fixes and design improvements. These are summarized at http://uofl.me/bb-whats-new-instructor.     6.) Cardinal winter tennis camp offered

    Various dates, 1 to 5 p.m., UofL Bass-Rudd Tennis Center

    $45 per day

    Coach Rex Ecarma warmly invites juniors aged 8 to 18 (grades 2-12) to his Winter Tennis Camp. The camps are held daily at the UofL Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Come one day or all days! Camp days are December 20 to 23 and December 26 to January 4. Beginner, intermediate and advanced players all welcome.

    8.) Give some peacc at the PEACC Annual Donation Drive

    Spread some cheer to local shelters this holiday by donating items through the PEACC Program! Travel-size toiletries and sanitary care items are among the most needed gifts. Items will be collected at various campus locations including the PEACC Office and Cardinal Station through Monday. Thank you for helping us reach out to those in shelters impacted by sexual and relational violence this season.

    12.) Individuals age 65 years and older needed for research study

    The Neuropsychology and Aging Lab of Dr. Benjamin Mast in the psychological and brain sciences department is investigating the association between musical training and cognition in adults aged 65 years and older. Participation takes about three hours and involves answering questions and completing cognitive tests. Participation can take place in the home or other place of convenience.
