    Sustainability

9.) Green Tip: Celebrate Air Quality Awareness Week and pledge to be idle-free

During Air Quality Awareness Week, UofL reminds you that with summer heat comes even greater need to reduce smog-forming pollution. You can help us all out by not using gas lawn mowers (often more polluting than cars), driving less (summer’s a great time to walk, bike, bus, or carpool) and shutting off vehicles while waiting for trains or pick-ups. An idling engine produces more emissions than a moving car and restarting a car uses as much fuel as idling 20-60 seconds. Idling longer is wasteful.

Additional Information: Test your knowledge with air quality quizzes. Read UofL’s No Idling Policy. Learn how you can help keep our air clean

Additional Information: Monica Sivori, 852-1162. Website.

    11.) Medicine: Dr. Gerald Lee
