UofL’s Music eX Series to feature music from around the world

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The works of some of the world’s best composers will be featured in a concert series for piano and strings at the University of Louisville School of Music. The Music eX Series will feature four concerts to raise funds for piano and string student scholarships.

    Dror Biran, artistic director and a UofL piano professor, will perform with a variety of guest artists and fellow faculty in a celebration of the world’s music. Born in Israel and winner of top international prizes, Biran established the Music eX Series last year to support talented students in the same way he was helped as he worked to launch his musical career.

    “Scholarships opened doors for me,” Biran said. “I am thrilled for both the opportunity to give back and to play with distinguished artists the great music from Germany, France, Russia, Czech Republic and the USA.”

    All concerts begin at 3 p.m. and will be preceded by a pre-concert lecture by music history faculty (lectures begin at 2:15 p.m.). The concerts will be performed in the Margaret Comstock Concert Hall, School of Music, as follows:
