UofL students prepare for commencement

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. –The University of Louisville will have its winter commencement ceremony Dec. 18 at the Kentucky International Convention Center at 7:30 p.m.

    A total of 1,992 students are expected to graduate this semester, including 44 who will receive doctoral degrees. Nearly 750 of the graduates will participate in the commencement ceremony.

    UofL President James Ramsey will deliver the main commencement address. Cara Uccellini, a political science major from Louisville, is this semester’s student speaker.

    Commencement events for Dec. 18 include:

    • 10 a.m. -5 p.m. – cap and gown distribution, Red Barn
    • 3:30 p.m. – graduate school doctoral hooding ceremony, Comstock Hall, School of Music
    • 4 p.m. -School of Nursing convocation, Rooms 109–112, convention center
    • 6 p.m. – President’s Reception, Cascade Ballroom, convention center
    • 7 p.m. – processional lineup, Rooms 207–211, convention center
    • 7:30 p.m.- commencement ceremony
