U OF L LABOR-MANAGEMENT LECTURES FOCUS ON WESTVACO PAPER MILL, OTHER ISSUES

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The cooperation of labor and management at Westvaco Corp.’s paper mill in Wickliffe, Ky., and other labor-management topics will be the focus of the University of Louisville Labor-Management Center’s luncheon lecture series this fall.

    The lunches are at the Galt House East in the Combs-Chandler Room. The events begin at noon.

    The schedule includes:

    • Oct. 31, “Best Practices: Westvaco and PACE Local 5-0680, Winners of the 2001 Labor-Management Award,” with Ed Wilson, manager of human resources for Westvaco Corp., and Sam Zellars, president of PACE Local 5-0680.
    • Nov. 14, “The Echo Boomers, aka Millennials or Generation Y: Secrets of Supervising, Working With or For the 20-something Generation,” with Lyle Sussman, professor of management, University of Louisville.
    • Dec. 12, “Technology, the Workplace and Legal Issues,” with Richard S. Cleary, attorney with Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC, and John Frith Stewart, attorney with Segal, Stewart, Cutler, Lindsay, Janes & Berry PLLC.
