Local event to focus on employment law



    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Workplace discrimination. Mediation. Ethical dilemmas in hiring and paying employees. Using analytics to make personnel decisions.

     Those are some of the topics to be discussed June 15-16 as part of an institute offered by the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law.

     The Carl A. Warns, Jr. and Edwin R. Render Labor and Employment Law Institute is targeted to attorneys, human resource professionals, union representatives and other workplace experts. The annual event examines current and emerging labor and employment law issues.

     This year’s keynote speaker is Paul Grossman, a partner of Los Angeles-based law firm Paul Hastings. Grossman is co-author of Employment Discrimination Law, a treatise annually updated for 35 years that has been described as “the definitive treatise in this complex and highly detailed area of law.”

     Institute attendees earn continuing legal education hours. Registration fees run from $250 to $385, plus a potential discount for new attorneys.

    The institute is named for two well-known law school professors and labor arbitrators.
