Free paper shredding, conference among Sustainability Week activities

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville students and employees are being asked to scoop up unwanted personal papers from their dorm rooms and home offices and carry them to the north side of Belknap Campus on Oct. 20.

    A Shred-It truck in front of the College of Business will accept and recycle the waste from noon to 2 p.m. that day for free. UofL’s purchasing department is offering the service to the UofL community as part of Campus Sustainability Week Oct. 18-24.

    The week will also feature Bluegrass Bioneers, a free, two-day conference co-sponsored by UofL’s Center for Environmental Education, offering talks, workshops and films Oct. 22-24 in the Strickler Hall area of campus and national speakers such as Jane Goodall via teleconference.

    Around a dozen other events are scheduled, including:
