Expert on the image of women in advertising will give free talks


    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – An expert on the image of women in advertising will speak at the University of Louisville Feb. 22 and at Bellarmine University Feb. 23.

    Jean Kilbourne is the author of two books, “Can’t Buy My Love: How Advertising Changes the Way We Think and Feel” and “So Sexy So Soon: The New Sexualized Childhood and What Parents Can Do to Protect Their Kids.” She has also made several documentary films and videos based on her research and has been a guest on radio and television programs including “Today”and “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

    Kilbourne’s hour-long presentations at UofL and Bellarmine are open to the public, include free parking and are offered on a first come, first seated basis. The talks will be followed by a question-and-answer session and book signing. Topics and location details are:
