LOUISVILLE, Ky. –Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John Swofford will talk about issues facing college sports at a University of Louisville Conversations With Champions event Feb. 24 at the Brown and Williamson Club, Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, beginning at 7 p.m.
Swofford has been ACC commissioner for nearly 20 years and has created programs that help student athletes succeed in academics and athletics while building valuable life skills. He was part of a team that launched the league’s first advisory committee that gives student athletes a stronger voice in conference decisions and policies. He also created an ACC outreach program, Community Connections, which gives student athletes a chance to talk to youngsters about good decisions, sportsmanship and healthy living.
The Feb. 24 event is free and open to the public. UofL Conversations With Champions is coordinated by the sport administration program, a part of the College of Education and Human Development, and is hosted by Billy Reed, sports journalist and an adjunct faculty member.
“This is a great opportunity for the community to meet John Swofford and hear his thoughts on what the ACC brings to UofL and vice versa,” Reed said.

UofL’s sport administration program is ranked ninth in the nation by Sports Management Degree Guide, which is highest among all ACC schools.
