The sixth annual MediStar Awards were presented on May 22 at the Hyatt Regency Louisville.

Winner of the Consumer First Award, presented to an individual or organization that has demonstrated the most “consumer friendly” program or facility, was the Mobile Mammography Unit of UofL’s James Graham Brown Cancer Center.

The A.O. Sullivan Award for Excellence in Education, presented to an individual or organization that has developed programs that increase the level of knowledge, education and career opportunity in health care, went to UofL Pediatrics-Forensic Medicine, Kentucky’s only child physical abuse and neglect assessment program.

The Hall Render Leadership in Healthcare Award for outstanding leadership in the business of health care was presented to Michael Bukosky, CEO of University of Louisville Physicians.

The awards are sponsored by IGE Media, publisher of Medical News and Medical News for You. Approximately 500 people attended the awards event that also celebrated the 20th anniversary of Medical News.
