The event raised about $3,500 for nursing scholarships and promoted good health in the community.

But student scholarships and community health are just some of the causes the Ramseys support.
Ramsey and his wife also are honorary co-chairs of the upcoming Oct. 25 fundraiser for Paws with a Purpose, a local organization that trains service dogs.

Earlier this year, Ramsey was honorary chair of the Colon Cancer Prevention Project fundraiser, and Jane is a member of the Ronald McDonald House Board of Directors.

“Jane and I believe in those causes and in most cases they tie back to things that are priorities for the University of Louisville,” Ramsey said.

Ramsey has said numerous times that UofL’s role as a “citizen university” is to impact the community in a positive way through economic development, educational opportunity and community engagement.
