Brian Lavin, president and CEO of Louisville-based NTS Development Co. attended the meeting as a guest and gave committee members information about a multi-tenant, four-story building planned as part of the ShelbyHurst development on UofL’s 240-acre Shelby Campus. NTS is partnering with the UofL Foundation to develop the property. Lavin showed preliminary designs for the building.
UofL Executive Vice President of Health Affairs Larry Cook discussed a working plan to integrate and streamline university clinical practices.
The proposal calls for the establishment of University of Louisville Physicians (ULP) a nonprofit umbrella organization that would serve as a holding company for 16 nonprofit medical and clinical practice subsidiaries. If the board approves the new structure, it could become effective as early as January 2012.
Cook’s presentation to the committee was informational only and required no action by committee members.
In other business, Vice President of Finance Mike Curtin reported on mid-year revenues and expenses with $332 million in total revenues and $250 million in expenses.
Finance Committee members also approved a capital construction expense of $490,000 for a new roof for the Miller Information Technology Center.
