The “Conversation with Candidates for Governor” event will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the NIA Center, 2900 W. Broadway.

The Yearlings Club extended invitations to all three candidates. Democratic candidate Gov. Steve Beshear, originally scheduled to participate, now will be unable to attend. Republican candidate David Williams and independent candidate Gatewood Galbraith are scheduled to attend. Galbraith is scheduled to speak from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Williams should speak from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Blaine Hudson, dean of UofL’s College of Arts and Sciences, will moderate the free, public discussion of the candidates’ views and plans for the state. There will be light refreshments.

The Yearlings Club and the College of Arts and Sciences organize an annual discussion series aimed at bringing people in Louisville together with UofL faculty members to explore issues, share expertise and forge common bonds. The club is devoted to civic responsibility, community service and leadership development.

The rest of the Yearling Club fall discussion series will be announced later.
