“Escape from Planet Earth” will lead off the series on Friday, June 7.  The free, public event will begin with inflatable rides and children’s activities at 6:30 p.m. Local singer/songwriter Leigh Ann Yost will perform at about 7:30 p.m. The movie will begin at dusk.

Sodexo will offer a variety of snacks and drinks for sale.

“Escape from Planet Earth” follows the escapades of astronaut Scorch Supernova, a hero to the blue citizens of the planet Baab, and his nerdy brother Gary. When Scorch receives an SOS, he heads for a dangerous and dark planet known as Earth. But after Scorch is captured, it’s up to Gary to save his brother, his own family and his planet, Baab.

Cards Under the Stars will continue July 19 with the Disney/Pixar film “Brave.” The series will conclude Saturday, Aug. 17, with a film still to be determined.
