As part of an effort to reduce aircraft noise in university buildings, Federal Aviation Administration and Regional Airport Authority contractors will conduct sound testing during Spring Break week, March 12-20.

The sound testing will require generation of amplified noise from an elevated public address loudspeaker during daytime hours at various exterior locations throughout Belknap Campus. The sound will be loud enough to be heard throughout much of Belknap.

Testing personnel also will be entering and exiting university buildings to collect sound data.

The following buildings are scheduled to be tested:

  • Ernst Hall
  • Natural Sciences
  • Gardiner Hall
  • Schneider Hall
  • Strickler Hall
  • Davidson Hall
  • Gottschalk Hall
  • Overseers Honors House
  • Studio Arts/HPES/Thrust Theater
  • Bingham Humanities
  • Life Sciences
