The fraternity’s mission is to develop leaders, promote brotherhood and academic excellence, and provide service and advocacy in local communities.

Alpha Phi Alpha’s return will be conditional based on restricted guidelines agreed upon by the university and the alumni chapter leadership. The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs has been working with the alumni chapter to put a number of activities and support services in place to ensure the group will be successful upon its return.

The return of Alpha Phi Alpha reinforces the UofL’s commitment to maintaining a vibrant campus community and providing additional Greek-letter opportunities for students. UofL is host to 28 Greek organizations, including eight of the nine National Pan-Hellenic Council organizations.

Faculty and staff who want to learn more or who would be interested in being involved in the chapter’s return should call the Office of the Dean of Student at 852-5787.
