Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson discussed leadership June 26 with a group of 30 Army officers attending a month-long strategic broadening seminar at the University of Louisville’s McConnell Center.

Abramson, a former longtime Louisville mayor, also is an Army veteran. He told the soldiers that leadership and management are not the same thing—that values and ethics are key to instilling “followship” and that good leaders have the ability to listen.

UofL was one of only two civilian universities in the nation selected this year to offer the high-level seminar, part of the Army’s Strategic Broadening Program.
