1.) Grawemeyer Spirit Award today

Event will be livestreamed on WHAS-TV and WDRB-TV
UofL will pay tribute to Muhammad Ali in a public ceremony today as the legendary boxer and humanitarian receives the inaugural Grawemeyer Spirit Award. The prize marks the 30th anniversary of the Grawemeyer Awards. The Grawemeyer Spirit Award ceremony kicks off a series of events, including lectures by Grawemeyer Award recipients. The event will be livestreamed on WHAS-TV and WDRB-TV.
2.) Gray Street: No bake chocolate cookies
Thursdays through Oct. 29, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., 400 block of E. Gray St.
Some items available today will include: red and yellow watermelons, tomato pies, no bake chocolate cookies, pickled watermelon rinds, whole grain breads, jams, corn, tomatoes, squash, zucchini, beets, cabbage, onions, cucumbers, okra, bell peppers, hot peppers, green beans, apples, cut flowers, lettuce, potatoes, peaches, apple chips, kettle corn and homemade soaps and lotions. The university community is invited to attend a ceremony and reception honoring the 2015 recipients of the Community Engagement Award. This award recognizes students, staff, faculty and community partners who are involved in outstanding community engagement service. This year also honors two individuals for their lifetime achievement of service to UofL and the community.

7.) School of Medicine Basic, Bridge, & Collaborative Grant Programs
The School of Medicine Research Committee administers the Basic, Bridge, and Collaborative Matching Grant programs to provide financial support to School of Medicine faculty. These awards have been increased up to $25K for Basic, $40K for Bridge, and $50K for Collaborative with $25K in matched funds. The next cycle’s submission deadline is October 1, 2015.
