    Health and Wellness

    1.) Get Healthy Now Wellness Center closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

    The GHN Wellness Center will close Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m., and will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday,  Nov. 27 in observance of Thanksgiving. Normal hours of operation will resume Saturday, Nov. 28 (9am – 5p). Happy Thanksgiving!

    2.) UofL Today publishing schedule for the holidays

    The UofL Today email is published Monday through Friday. Due to the upcoming university holidays, UofL Today will not be sent out Wednesday to Friday (Nov. 25 to 27) or Dec. 23 to Jan. 1. The deadline for Nov. 30 announcements is 10 a.m. tomorrow (Nov. 24); and for Jan. 4 announcements is 10 a.m., Dec. 22. Contact Janet Cappiello with questions.

     

    3.) CORRECTION: Free Information Security training session

    Free to all faculty and staff

    This session is presented by the university’s Information Security Office and is free and open to all faculty and staff. Topics include: identifying and protecting “sensitive data” and Kentucky’s new privacy law (HB5) and how it impacts you. We will also cover tips to help you protect your work and personal data.     4.) Resume Writing Workshop for college scholarships to be held

    Dec. 1, 2 to 3 p.m., Student Activities Center, Room 310

    Free

    Do you have a son or daughter in high school who is applying for college scholarships? At this workshop, they can learn effective strategies and keywords to use for their resumé and interviews for the upcoming scholarship applications and deadlines. A Career Coach will give your student valuable insight to help them put their best foot forward to better impress scholarship committees. Registration is required and space is limited.

    5.) Dance Theatre offers ‘Clara’s Dream’ preview

    Dec. 3, 7p.m., School of Music’s Comstock Hall

    UofL students free; public $5 suggested donation

    Come and enjoy the University of Louisville Dance Theatre’s free preview performance of Clara’s Dream, the familiar story of “The Nutcracker” from the time that Clara starts dreaming of snow and the land of sweets. Her dream takes the audience along for a joyful ride through fantasy.

    6.) Medicine Grand Rounds off this week

    Medicine Grand Rounds is off this week for the Thanksgiving holiday (Nov. 26). We return to our regular schedule on December 3 when we host Dr. Jan Basile of the Medical University of South Carolina. We wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
