2.) Keeping cool during the holidays

    9:30 a.m. Dec. 10, Room 103A, Human Resources Building

    Free

The holidays should be an enjoyable season where we spend time with friends and family, but often becomes the biggest headache of the year. The work piles up, the wish lists get longer and we find ourselves hoping the holiday away before it has even happened. HR wants to invite you to a fun and laid-back session designed to keep you cool during this stressful time. We will make posters, color and create masterpieces that help us to remember the holidays should be fun.

    Additional Information: Registration; Questions.

    3.) Safe Zone training II

    1:30 p.m. Dec. 6, Room 103A, Human Resources Building

    Free

Safe Zone project is a workshop designed to give faculty and staff the tools and resources they need to understand LGBT students and create a welcoming, affirming campus environment for all. This fun and informative session is a continuation of what you learned in Safe Zone session I. You will build on information you learned, as well as break down stereotypes and start important dialogue. You don’t have to be an expert in sexuality or gender identity/expression to attend. If you did not attend session I, please feel free to attend the second session (there is no prerequisite).

    Additional Information: Registration; Questions.

4.) UofL Cares Campaign – Deadline for ‘Wear It Forward’ is today

The deadline to drop off new and gently used coats and other winter items is today at all local Krispy Kreme, Walmart, YMCA and Sam Swope dealerships. The goal “Wear It Forward” is to provide winter coats and other winter clothing items to 4,000 underprivileged students. Keep in mind students come in all sizes so adult sizes are also needed. A local dry cleaner has offered its services for this initiative. Thank you for showing the community that UofL cares.

Additional Information: Lisa Baunach, chair emeritus, 852-5159.

    5.) Attention Employees: Tuition Remission

The spring 2014 term approaches quickly. If you have not yet submitted a tuition remission request for the spring 2014 semester for yourself or your dependent, please do so on the HR Education Benefits website. To expedite your tuition remission request, please submit your form after you or your dependent registers for classes. Tuition remission for employees will post to student accounts after final grades have posted for the fall 2013 semester.
