    1.) Provost accepting online nominations for advising awards

    Through Dec. 3, the Office of the University Provost is accepting nominations for the 27th Annual Provost’s Awards for Exemplary Advising. Nominations/letters of support can be submitted online. Eligible for nomination are full-time faculty members whose primary advising responsibility is advising undergraduate students and professional advisors whose primary and current job responsibility is assigned to the academic advisement of undergraduate students.

    2.) Import final grades from Blackboard to PeopleSoft

    Blackboard Grade Center now offers a way to upload final letter grades directly into the PeopleSoft Grade Roster within the Faculty Center.     6.) Louisville Orchestra to perform as part of New Music Festival tonight

    New Music Festival: Louisville Orchestra, conducted by Teddy Abrams – featuring music by Grawemeyer winning composer Kaija Saariaho. The program will include Saariaho’s cello concerto Notes on Light, performed by the LO with Danish cellist Jakob Kullberg. The program will also include music by other Grawemeyer wining composers, including Krzysztof Penderecki, John Adams, Witold Lutoslawski and Esa-Pekka Salonen.

    As the weather continues to get colder, Kentucky Refugee Ministries (KRM) is in need of warm clothing (coats, hats, scarves, gloves, etc.) for newly arrived refugee families.     U.S. Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina will visit the University of Louisville as a special guest of the McConnell Center on Monday, November 16. His free, public talk will begin at 10 a.m. in Bigelow Hall, Miller Information Technology Center, on UofL’s Belknap Campus. One of only two African-Americans in the Senate, he is the first African-American senator elected in his home state and the first senator elected in the U.S. South since 1881.     25.) Asthma research study needs subjects

    If you have asthma and are at least 60 years old you may qualify for this longitudinal study that will examine the environmental and personal factors in asthma control. Participants must be NOT a current smoker or have other lung diseases. Participants will be compensated.
