    The Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning announces an online course to prepare instructors to teach online-Delphi U Online. The spring offering will launch February 1 and conclude April 3. Participants will learn two primary concepts: What it is like to be an online learner and how to effectively teach online. This is for full and part-time faculty planning to teach a new fully online course or enhance an online course between Summer 2016 and Summer 2017.

    The Publishing Academy is a semester-long series of sessions for graduate students designed to help navigate the complex landscape of academic publishing. Sessions will cover a variety of topics including citation metrics; copyright and licensing; selecting publishing venues; and the critical questions to ask and answer related to all of these areas.     GO College Louisville is preparing for the upcoming 2016 year and searching for interested individuals who can tutor high school students in your area of strength. The Fall portion of the tutoring program has been a great success and currently has a couple available opportunities if anyone is available to give a minimum of an hour of your free time to tutoring the students at Moore Traditional and/or The Academy @Shawnee High School.

    16.) Crossing the Corrupting Sea: Women on the Move in the Ancient Mediterranean

    The Liberal Studies Project and the KY Society of the Archaeological Institute of America present the talk by Dr. Sheila Dillon as part of the Women in the Ancient Mediterranean World lecture series. Dillon is a professor of art history and classical studies at Duke University and editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Archaeology. Dillon’s works include “The Female Portrait Statue in the Greek World” and “Ancient Greek Portrait Sculpture: Contexts, Subjects and Styles.

    17.) Medicine: Dr. Maxwell Krem

    Nov. 12, 8 a.m., Ambulatory Care Building auditorium

    Medicine Grand Rounds features Maxwell Krem, MD, PhD, assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Blood and Bone Marrow Transplantation at UofL. Dr. Krem will present Novel Targeted Therapy for Low-Grade Lymphoid Malignancies, focusing on age-related and biological risk factors for low-grade lymphoma pathogenesis and outcomes, the mechanisms of action of novel low-grade lymphoma therapies, and applying recent efficacy and toxicity data to older patients with low-grade lymphoma.
