    DID YOU KNOW?

    The UofL School of Medicine traces its beginnings to the Louisville Medical Institute, which held classes for the first time in the fall of 1837 with 80 students and seven faculty members. In 1846, the institute became the Medical Department of the newly formed University of Louisville.

    1.) 25th Annual Faculty/Staff/Alumni Golf Scramble

    June 10, 1 p.m., Quail Chase Golf Course, 7000 Cooper Chapel Rd., $55
    Men and women welcome, retirees and spouses invited as well. Teams can be requested or placed according to handicap or average score. Entry fee includes greens fee, cart, skins game, team prizes, individual hole competitions, range balls, and lunch. Scramble limited to first 120 entries. Lunch served beginning at check-in at 11:30am. Entry deadline is Friday, June 3.

    2.) Reminder about NCAA Athletics Compliance and UofL’s Commitment to Institutional Control

    UofL’s commitment to institutional control and maintaining NCAA compliance is a campus-wide, shared responsibility. This responsibility includes the obligation, per NCAA rules, for UofL staff and students to report suspected or potential NCAA violations. If you have questions about NCAA rules and/or have information about a potential violation, please contact U of L’s Athletics Compliance Office.

    Come check out the variety of products offered by 14 local farmers and vendors from Kentucky and Indiana.

    4.) Gray Street Farmers Market open today

    May 26, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., 400 block of E. Gray Street, between South Preston and South Jackson streets

    This market serves those who work at the Health Sciences Center campus, hospitals, and other area businesses, as well as those who live in the surrounding neighborhoods of Phoenix Hill, Smoketown, Shelby Park and Liberty Green.

    5.) GHN’s Feel Like a Million Challenge registration deadline extended

    Thanks for your interest in GHN’s Feel Like a Million Challenge. If you are currently enrolled in the GHN Program and have access to the e-health platform, you can proceed with registration. If you do not currently have access to the platform, you will have access to register for the challenge in the latter part of this week. We have extended the registration deadline to June 10, to ensure everyone has the opportunity to register and participate in this exciting challenge.

    6.) Get Healthy Now Wellness Center will be closed for Memorial Day

    The GHN Wellness Center will be closed on Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day. Normal hours of operation will resume Tuesday, May 31 (6 a.m. to 9 p.m.).
