    DID YOU KNOW?

     

    A 2014 UofL grad is in Ireland to compete in a contest to be crowned the Rose of Tralee. Emily Hughes, born in Louisville to first generation Irish-American parents, was chosen the Kentucky Rose this spring, earning her a spot in the international competition for women of Irish descent. The Courier-Journal reports she will be part of a regional competition that begins May 27, and if she makes it, she will move on to the final competition in August.

    Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium

    Want a summer camp experience that is out of this world? Kids have fun while learning at these fast-paced camps filled with hands-on explorations, creations and activities. The camps are designed for a variety of age groups and grades. Cost: $200 non-members; $180 UofL faculty, staff, students with valid ID; $150 planetarium family members.     3.) Workshop – Professional Etiquette for the Modern Workplace

    May 20, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., HR Building, Conference Room 103A

    This session will take a look at the basic protocols you need to have in your professional tool box. The first section will discuss “What is professionalism?” and how to enhance your image beyond educational qualifications. Then, we will talk about the “Best Business Etiquette Guidelines,” which will enable you to bring your “A game” manners to your work place every day. Above all, this session will highlight keeping your dignity and respecting the dignity of others.
