    1.) Get Fit in 20 now available at HSC and Shelby campuses

    Get Healthy Now is coming to the Shelby and HSC campus for “Fit in 20.” Join us outside for a quick boost to your day with our certified Health Fitness Specialist. Fit in 20 is for all fitness levels from beginner to advanced. Athletic shoes recommended.

    Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12-12:50 p.m., Get Healthy Now Wellness Center at Humana Gym; $40 unlimited classes, first class is always free

    A strong core can improve athletic performance, posture, and can reduce back pain. Using weights, balls, bands, gliding discs and your own body weight as resistance, this class will help strengthen your core, sculpt your body and burn calories. Modifications for all fitness levels are provided.

    3.) Feel alive and rejuvenated with Intro to Nia

    Tuesdays, 6:40-7:40 p.m., Get Healthy Now Wellness Center, Humana Gym 601 Presidents Blvd.; Free for members at the GHN Wellness Center

    Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that draws from disciplines of the martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. Every class offers a unique combination of 52 moves that corresponds with the main areas of the body: the base, the core, and upper extremities.

    5.) Open Walls exhibit registration deadline approaching

    Registration due June 1

    The annual show for faculty and staff is scheduled for June 13 to June 30 in the Photographic Archives gallery at Ekstrom Library. The exhibit is an opportunity for UofL employees who are not professional or exhibited artists to share their work. All media (i.e., painting, photography, woodworking, mixed media, fiber arts, jewelry, crafts) will be accepted. Click here for more information and registration form.

    The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology presents a William J. Waddell Seminar with Anatoly Zhitkovich, PhD, Professor of Medical Science, Brown University Dept. of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The topic is “Chemistry and Biology of Chromium Carcinogenesis.”
