    1.) The Get Healthy Now Wellness Center will be closed for Easter

    The GHN Wellness Center will be closed on Sunday, March 27 in observance of Easter. Normal hours of operation will resume Monday, March 28th (6 a.m. to 9 p.m.)

    2.) Mammogram screening scheduled for UofL Employees

    May 4, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Gottschalk Circle on Belknap Campus (next to Shumaker Research Building)

    Insurance will be billed. UofL insurance covers 100 percent

    KCP and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, part of KentuckyOne Health, will be bringing the mobile mammography van back to Belknap Campus on Wednesday, May 4 for UofL employees. If you’re over 40 and it has been at least a year since your last mammogram, you may call 852-6318 to schedule your appointment. Insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid will be billed. UofL insurance will cover 100 percent.

    3.) Achieve Lean Legs with Get Healthy Now

    5.) First Global Health Fair includes health screenings

    March 24, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Kentucky Refugee Ministries, 969 Cherokee Rd.

    The University of Louisville Global Health Center is partnering with other university and community partners to present the first Global Health Fair. The fair’s objective is to provide health services for the uninsured and underinsured, for undocumented migrants and for refugees. It will also include demonstrations, health screenings, raffles, activities and a bicycle giveaway.

    6.) How Women’s Rights Became a Global Norm: Reflections on the CEDAW

    Join us for free lunch and workshop with the Louisville Permaculture Guild. Take a deep dive into the principles of permaculture: The use of skilled design to produce ecologies, economies and communities which are grounded in an ethical consideration of their environments. The Sustainability Council’s EcoReps program aims to move faculty, staff and students from talk to action for a more sustainable UofL. Get trained, help out and even get certified as a point-person for sustainability.

    Our speaker is Ambareen Jan, MD one of our MIGS fellows. Her topic is “The Syrian Refugee Crisis: A Reflection of the Global Health Challenges in Today’s Social Climate.” She will give a brief overview of the Syrian Refugee Crisis, discuss current efforts in the Syrian Refugee Crisis and the challenges physicians face in an acute crisis and broader challenges in the global health community.
