    Dom McShan, program director at the Cultural Center, and 10 UofL students will attend and present at the Clemson University National Men of Color Summit in mid-April. The group will lead an interactive workshop titled “The Man Behind the Mask: Workshop on Achievement, Masculinity, and Mental Health.”

    The World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana’s Cryptocurrency event last week featured panelist Dr. Roman Yampolskiy, a professor of Computer Engineering and Computer Science at the Speed School of Engineering. This event focused on the rise of cryptocurrencies in the last year, their potential benefits in a global world and the pitfalls involved. The speakers covered the technical grounding, the possibilities of regulation, and the economic and political ramifications of what is still a new and little understood technology.

    Aruni Bhatnagar, PhD, director of the Diabetes and Obesity Center at UofL, will discuss the research, the Green Heart Project. The project is studying air quality, innovative landscape design and human health to determine, scientifically, whether planting more trees and adding greenspaces in a neighborhood could increase the health of its residents.
