    The Louisville Lacrosse team opens their home ACC schedule against Duke. It’s a Red Out, the first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free Louisville Lacrosse t-shirt.

    3.) Mezzo soprano concert March 21 part of Speed Concert Series

    March 21, 3 p.m., UofL School of Music, Comstock Hall

    $15 UofL faculty and staff; $5 students

    Mezzo soprano Michelle DeYoung, winner of the 2003 Grammy Award for Best Classical Album, will perform works by Johannes Brahms, Manuel De Falla and more. Click here for tickets.

    4.) Deadline is March 24 for Adult Learner Awards

    Do you know an adult student (graduate and/or undergraduate) who has made great strides toward getting an education and improving their life? Do you know a faculty/staff member who goes the extra mile to help adult students succeed? The Metroversity Outreach Committee is taking nominations for outstanding adult students, staff and faculty members. Deadline for nominations is Tuesday, March 24.     5.) Delphi U 2015 applications due March 23

    May 4 to 8 or June 1 to 5, Founders Union, Shelby Campus

    Free

    Work with colleagues and team members from the Delphi Center to identify and implement best practices for online instruction. You’ll leave Delphi U 2015 with a head start on creating or redesigning an online course. Applications for this free workshop are due March 23. Space is limited, so apply now.     7.) Call for abstracts for the 25th Annual Neuroscience Day

    Deadline 6 p.m. March 31

    The 25th Annual Neuroscience Day will be held April 23 this year in the CTRB. Abstracts for the poster competition are being accepted online until March 31 for undergraduate, graduate and postdoc/resident categories. Be sure to register for the meeting by March 31, as well.

    9.) Children 8 to 13 years needed for anxiety and worry study

    Room 363, Life Sciences Building, Belknap Campus

    Are you stressed? Is your child stressed, anxious or worried? We can help! The UofL Developmental Psychopathology Lab is conducting a study examining the nature of worry and anxiety in parents and children. Parents and their children between the ages of 8 and 13 years are eligible to participate. Participants will be compensated $20 for their time and receive free diagnostic interviews, detailed feedback and a report outlining the results of our assessment. IRB #13.0923

    10.) Blood collection research study

    Zhongjun Wu, PhD and Mark Slaughter, MD, department of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, are conducting a blood collection study to identify how blood responds with biomedical devices. Healthy adults 18 years or older, in general good health, and taking no medication on a regular basis may qualify. You will be compensated for each blood donation. IRB #15.0104

    The University of Louisville/Yearlings Club will present the final session in the series “Saving Our Youth” a distinguished group of panelists will discuss policy solutions and strategies for improving adolescent choices and lifestyles and will discuss their “hands-on” approach to working with youth to reach positive outcomes.

    12.) The Gardens and Architecture that Inspired Jane Austen

    Professor Glynis Ridley will discuss the designed landscape, architecture and visual environment that inspired Jane Austen. Locust Grove is a member of A&S’s Center for Arts and Culture Partnerships. This is a program of the Jane Austen Society.
