1.) Belknap Campus parking changes delayed until spring semester
Good news for blue and green parking permit holders: Anticipated changes to Belknap Campus lots near Speed School of Engineering have been put on hold until the spring semester. The Eastern Parkway entrance to the Speed School parking lots and the green permit lot on Third Street across from Reynolds Lofts will remain open through the fall semester. 2.) Informative training sessions with Anthony Travel scheduled
Anthony Travel is UofL’s travel management partner for all university business travel. Services include: individual and group air and hotel reservations, car reservations, 24/7 emergency assistance and more. The Controller’s Office is hosting training sessions for the Online Booking Tool. All individuals booking or arranging travel should one of the following sessions: August 1, MITC 201, Belknap Campus, 8:30-10 a.m., 10:15-11:45 a.m., 1:15-2:45 p.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.; and Aug. 2, HB 302, HSC Instructional Building, HSC Campus, 8:30-10 a.m., 10:15-11:45 a.m., 1:15-2:45 p.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.

Neurological disability is one of the most feared complications in pregnancy, labor and the early months of life. The developing brain is vulnerable and subject to a wide range of structural malformations and malfunctions that require care from various specialists. This year’s joint UofL/Norton Pediatric Neurology Update focuses on Neonatal Neurology. In addition to an expert keynote speaker, subspecialists from Kosair Children’s Hospital and UofL Physicians will address the participants.

“The Cannabis Conundrum: The genetics & politics of America’s most controversial plant,” will be presented by DL Dr. George Weiblen of the Univ. of Minnesota. He studies the genetics of cannabis and challenges opinions on all sides of the debate of cannabis, used for fiber, oil, nutritious seeds, and psychoactive drugs.

This Friday, please join us for a pediatric grand rounds featuring George C. Rodgers, Jr. MD, PhD. Rodgers is a professor of pediatrics at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He will present “Guns and Children.” After the presentation, the audience should know more about the history of gun ownership in the U.S., the extent and nature of gun-related injuries and death in children and understand the needs to lower morbidity and mortality associated with guns.
