PHOTOS, VIDEO: More than 600 people enjoyed the movie “Cinderella” on Friday night on the lawn beside the Natural Sciences Building on Belknap Campus. The movie was part of this summer’s “Cards Under the Stars” outdoor film series, and featured an appearance by Cinderella along with games and inflatables for children. Watch video here. 1.) Nominate a nurse for the Florence Nightingale Awards in Nursing
Do you know a nurse who has made a difference? Nominate a nurse for the 2nd annual Florence Nightingale Awards in Nursing, hosted by the UofL School of Nursing. Nominate online or submit an essay of 600 words or less by September 8, explaining how a registered nurse has impacted a patient’s or client’s life. Email essays to Karen.Rose@louisville.edu. Four to six winners will be selected. All registered nurses in Kentucky and southern Indiana are eligible. Winners will receive $1,000 and a plaque.

2.) Work day and harvest scheduled
July 29, noon to 2 p.m., UofL Cultural Center, 120 East Brandeis

Please join us Wednesday at the Garden Commons next to the Cultural Center. We need volunteers to help us take care of the garden and keep up with weeding, watering and harvesting. No prior experience needed. Tools and gloves are provided. Volunteers will be able to take home fresh herbs and yummy produce such as mint, lovage, thyme, radishes , beets, carrots, cherry tomatoes, kale, Swiss chard, and whatever is ready to harvest .

3.) Dept. of Medicine revises budget spreadsheets
The Department of Medicine has revised its NIH budget spreadsheets to reflect the increased tuition rate. The revised spreadsheets are available here.
