    The Department of OBGYN & Women’s Health welcomes Francoise Shapero, BS PT, ULH Department of Outpatient Rehabilitation, to present “Physical Therapy Interdisciplinary Interventions for Pelvic Organ Prolapse.” She will focus on musculoskeletal and neuromuscular factors that can affect pelvic floor function, treatments for pelvic dysfunction and pelvic organ prolapse, and when to refer patients to physical therapy.

    This Friday, please join us for the 5th Annual Butterflies for Maddie Lectureship featuring James F. Chmiel, MD, MPH. Chmiel is an associate professor of pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Allergy/Immunology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He will be presenting “Update on outpatient management of asthma: Where do the results of all of these clinical trials fit?”

    Learn a new way to flourish by using broth-based cooking. At this Get Healthy Now event, you’ll learn to make a simple stir-fry using heart healthy broth. The demo and tasting are free. While you are out, feel free to purchase a heart healthy lunch.

    “The Challenge of School Desegregation Efforts in Louisville, Kentucky.”  Tracy K’Meyer will discuss her book “From Brown to Meredith: The Long Struggle for School Desegregation in Louisville, Kentucky, 1954-2007.” Panelists include, Raymond Burse, NAACP Education Committee; Dewey Hensley, chief academic officer, Jefferson County Public Schools; Houston Barber, principal, The Academy @Shawnee.
