The Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning can help you decide which student outcomes are appropriate for digital media assignments, how to design the activity or create the rubric or just brainstorm.     6.) Closure of HSC iTech Connect location as of 12/23/15

    The Office of Information Technology announces the closure of the Health Science Campus location of iTech Connect, effective 12/23/2015. One computer will remain in the HSC Computing Center (K Wing 2016) for the purpose of printing to the Uniprint system for those with a UofL ID. Technical assistance is always available for the UofL community (in-person) at iTech Connect (Belknap Campus, Miller IT Center, lower level) and through IT’s HelpDesk at 852-7997 and louisville.edu/it/helpdesk.

    7.) University Writing Center hosts “Write In”

    Dec. 9, 6 to 9 p.m., University Writing Center, Ekstrom Library 1st Floor

    Free

    The University Writing Center joins nearly 90 writing centers from across the world for the “International Write In.” Our goal is to create community during a stressful time of the semester. We invite UofL writers to our space to work on final papers. We will provide snacks, handouts and writing consultants (to answer quick questions). The “Write In” forwards our mission to support writing as integral part of the intellectual life of the university and a lifelong learning process.

     

    8.) USPS mandate for all outgoing USPS parcels

    The USPS now mandates all outgoing packages must have a tracking label. This will offer tracking of your packages at no additional cost. Departments must apply a USPS Tracking sticker. A portion of the label containing the tracking number is retained by the department. Labels are available free from mail services at http://louisville.edu/mail/resources/request-supplies.

    10.) University of Louisville Suzuki Steps Baby/Toddler Classes

    Jan. 2, 9 to 10 & 10:30-11:30 a.m., Suzuki Stars Music Academy, 3415 Bardstown Rd, Suite 308A

    Using traditional nursery rhymes, action songs, lullabies and instruments these classes seek to build on the child’s natural delight in learning and lay the foundation for musical skills such as beat, rhythm, pitch and tone. Through parent/child interactions and class participation, students start to acquire attributes of trust, sharing, success, and communication.

    These classes will be led by Blaise Poth, Jennifer Shackleton and Cecilia Huerta Lauf. All are teachers with the Community Music Program at UofL and also musicians with the Louisville Orchestra and other local arts organizations.     As you develop and revise spring syllabi, the Sustainability Council encourages faculty from all disciplines to integrate themes of environmental, social and economic stewardship into your courses, research and service learning projects. In addition to our Green Threads Faculty Workshop, we offer: guest speakers, discussion guides, online learning tools, info on research grants, engaging sustainability events for your syllabi, and an EcoReps program offering service learning, educational videos and certification.
