The college’s Equine Industry Program commissioned the life-sized, gray fiberglass statue decorated with a Kentucky horse farm scene by Louisville artist Pam Stockard.
“We’ve named it Horsebiz because it combines horses and business, which reflects the unique nature of our program,” said equine director Tim Capps.
Gallopalooza, a project created to benefit charity and boost civic pride, has led to the placement of hundreds of colorful Thoroughbred horse statues around the community since 2004.
Another Gallopalooza horse is installed in front of the Student Activities Center on Belknap Campus. Rising Star by Jennie A. Gelles is signed by former Cardinal, Olympian and WNBA player Angel McCoughtry in celebration of the NCAA success of the UofL 2009 Women’s Basketball team.
