    UofL friendly dental providers are offering free oral health screenings and orthodontic consultations for children and youth to age 21 through the end of October.     Brook Street Congestion

    August 17, 7 a.m.-4 p.m., Brook Street
    Expect traffic congestion along Brook Street on Thursday, August 17. A major concrete pour will be taking place for the SAC Addition that will involve 65 to 70 concrete trucks beginning at 7 a.m. and lasting most of the day. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes that day.

     

    Dining Locations Opening for Fall Semester

    University Dining Services is excited to bring a number of new options to campus for fall semester. Locations will open on the following schedule:
    • August 15 – Starbucks (SAC), McAlister’s, Starbucks, Ville Grill, Au Bon Pain and Starbucks (HSC)
    • August 16 – Mark’s Feed Store and POD (UTA only)
    • August 20 – Twisted Taco
    • August 21 – The Marketplace featuring Olilo, prime Grill, Southern Traditions, the Exchange and Aqua Sushi by Drake’s. Also Wendy’s, Panda, Papa John’s, Twisted Taco, City Café, remaining PODs, Subway (Davidson) and Einstein Brothers

    Openings Remain for Delphi U Online Fall 2017

    Openings still remain for the Fall offering of Delphi U Online. Get many of your questions and concerns about online courses answered in this engaging eight week long workshop. Participants will learn two primary concepts: What it is like to be an online learner and how to effectively teach online.     2017-18 Faculty Learning Community applications due

    The deadline to apply for one of three new faculty learning communities (FLCs) at the Teaching Innovation Learning Lab (TILL) is Friday, August 25. These FLCs bring together small groups of cross-disciplinary faculty to investigate such topics as active learning spaces, adaptive learning, innovation and technology. These communities meet eight times throughout the course of the year to explore teaching innovation, assess impact on student learning, and present and publish results.

    Boot Camp is a fun and high-intensity interval training workout that incorporates strength, cardio and sport movements. This class is designed for maximum calorie burn and to challenge your mind and body. Suitable for all fitness levels.

    Get moving with Nia

    Tuesdays, 6:15-7 a.m. and 6:40-7:40 p.m.; Thursdays, 6:15-7 a.m., Get Healthy Now Wellness Center, Free for GHN members
    Get moving with GHN’s Nia class to help you find health through movement. Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that draws from disciplines of the martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. Every class offers a unique combination of 52 moves that corresponds with the main areas of the body: the base, the core, and upper extremities.
