Man in football jersey receives baton from Golden Knight
President Gerry Bradley is presented a baton by Golden Knights.

The University of Louisville now possesses a mahogany baton from the U.S. Army Parachute Team, known as the Golden Knights. It is a symbol of partnership, appreciation and commitment to those who serve.

In a showcase of precision and coordination, the Golden Knights jumped from aircraft onto L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium as part of the Oct. 9 Cardinal football game. There they met President Gerry Bradley, presenting him with a baton.

“I’m so humbled to receive this honor from the Golden Knights. This recognition highlights UofL’s commitment to our military-connected students. Our UofL staff and faculty greatly value and recognize the service of our military-connected students, and I am so proud of the work happening here to support these dedicated Cardinals,” Bradley said.

Recognized as a Military Friendly® Gold and Military Friendly® Spouse school and the Military Times’ Best for Vets Colleges, UofL is a welcome and supportive environment for military service members and their families.

With almost 3,200 military-connected students enrolled, military students account for more than 12% of UofL’s total enrollment.
