Ice storm prompts UofL admissions to extend application deadline

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville’s Office of Admissions has extended the priority deadline for freshmen applications from Feb. 15 to March 1 due to the winter ice storm.

The priority deadline applies only to first-time freshmen enrolling for the fall 2009 semester. Qualified students who submit applications after March 1 are not guaranteed admission.

“With so many high schools closed during the storm, we didn’t want to put an unreasonable burden on counselors or applicants,” said executive director of admissions, Jenny Sawyer. “The power outages were extremely widespread and we recognize that there may be plenty of possible applicants who are still without Internet access.”
