The group has been studying student personnel and higher education and is spending the week working with the Barbados Community College and the University of the West Indie – Cave Hill campus.

The UofL group will offer insights into how those schools might develop their current programs.

Faculty and staff on the trip include Tom Jackson, vice president for Student Affairs; Kathy Pendleton, Counseling Center director; Michael Cuyjet and Alexis Lyras, faculty at the College of Education; and Joy Hart, communication professor.

While there, the students and group leaders are blogging about their experience. (Read their posts  and see photos from the trip.)

The International Service Learning Program is in its 13th year. It first started with a trip to Barbados in 1997. Since that time ISLP has seen continuous service in Belize and recently has gone to the Philippines and Botswana.
