The public can attend a reception for the exhibit June 7, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cressman Center for Visual Arts, 100 E. Main St.
Fischer, who recently turned 96 years old, started painting in the 1950s and produced work as recently as 2011. He has endowed the Bill Fischer Senior Project Grants which help two students – one in 2-D studio and one in 3-D studio – each semester mount their senior exhibitions. He also has underwritten the fine art’s department’s studio spaces at Our Mother of Sorrows. That space now is called the “The Bill Fischer Studios.”
The Bill Fischer exhibit runs through June 29. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gallery is open until 9 p.m. the first Friday of each month.
