    1.) Cardinal Challenge Business Plan Competition

    Feb. 13, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Louisville Marriott Downtown

    Presentations are open to the public

    The Brown-Forman Cardinal Challenge is an exciting, high-stakes business plan competition hosted by the Forcht Center for Entrepreneurship in the College of Business. The 2016 Cardinal Challenge will feature 12 teams from as far away as Manitoba along with UofL’s own Izculvane Technologies, all competing for more than $125,000 in business start-up cash and prizes. All are invited to this fun event that is similar to “Shark Tank.”

    There’s still time to connect your health, fitness and well-being goals in 2016 with Get Healthy Now’s Connect the Dots Challenge. Join the challenge to successfully reconnect to your best self with fun wellness opportunities. Get five across, down, or diagonally to be entered for a PRIZE. Each participant will track their participation with a Bingo-inspired game board and be entered to earn a prize once they connect five dots. Learn more and get started today!

    3.) We put the “Fun” in Functional Fitness

    Saturdays 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., Get Healthy Now Wellness Center, Humana Gym

    Free for GHN Wellness Center members

    This class focuses on core fitness that can easily translate into daily activities. It incorporates all of the major muscle groups as well as the muscles you never knew you had. You will get efficient, quality, functional movements that will enhance and nourish your spine, revitalize your postural muscles, and strengthen your core with every movement. Exercises are shown at different skill levels so each person can work to their own individual competency.

    Kickstart your workout with Cardio Kick & Sculpt class! Have fun while burning off the calories from the holiday season. Join GHN for an action-packed workout that improves strength, muscle tone, endurance, and help you stick to your fitness goals and includes interval training exercises that will have you shredding calories! All moves are modified based on fitness level.

    5.) 10th anniversary of International Film Festival

    The Tenth Annual International Film Festival brings you four films from four countries. “Owl and the Sparrow,” Vietnam, 4 p.m. Feb. 7; “Journey to the West,” China, 4 p.m. Feb. 8; “Una Noche,” Cuba, 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Feb. 10 and “Timbuktu,” Mali, 4 p.m. Feb. 11. Each film is screened at the Chao Auditorium, Ekstrom Library,& is free to the public; light refreshments will be provided. Hosted by the Communication Department & the Institute for Intercultural Communication
