Historian’s lecture about Ecuador canceled

    EDITORS: The Oct. 16 lecture at UofL by historian Enrique Ayala Mora, previously announced in an Oct. 8 news release, has been canceled.

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Oct. 16 lecture at the University of Louisville by a history professor and university president from Ecuador has been canceled.

    Enrique Ayala Mora had been scheduled to give the free, public talk about “Social Movements, Authoritarian Regimes and Caudillismo in Ecuador” at 4:30 p.m. in Chao Auditorium, Ekstrom Library. The event was the 18th annual Latin American and Latino Studies Heritage Lecture, offered by the Latin American and Latino studies program within the College of Arts and Sciences.

    Ayala Mora is president and dean of the history faculty at Universidad Andina Simon Bolivar in Quito.
