Justice Kagan to receive Brandeis Medal Oct. 24

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan will be in Louisville Oct. 24 to receive the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law’s Brandeis Medal and take part in a conversation-style discussion.

Kagan was originally scheduled to come to Louisville Sept. 15 for a ticketed event.

The rescheduled program will be noon-1 p.m.at the Brown & Williamson Club, 2800 S. Floyd St.  The event is for law school students and others who had previously registered for the Sept. 15 event.

Kagan will be interviewed by UofL law professors Laura Rothstein and Justin Walker. Walker met the justice when he was a student at Harvard Law School, where she served as dean. The law professors will ask Kagan about her background and processes within the U.S. Supreme Court.
