Auditions will be Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 11 and 12, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Thrust Theatre, 2314 S. Floyd St. Roles are available for adults 15 and over, open to gender and ethnicity.

Callbacks are scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 13, beginning at 7 p.m.

Actors may audition for one or both of the spring plays, A Perfect Wedding and How Orisanmi Chose His Head.

A Perfect Wedding, by Charles Mee, is a satirical comedy based on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Directed by Amy Steiger, the play will be presented March 2-6 at The Playhouse. Parts are open for 12 adults, males or females. Auditions will include group improvisation and movement exercises and readings from the script. Rehearsals begin Jan. 18.

How Orisanmi Chose His Head, written and directed by Nefertiti Burton, is an ancient Yoruba tale with music and dance. Casting includes opportunities for 15 males and females of all ethnic and body types, 15 years old or older, including a chorus of actors who can sing and move well. Auditions will consist of readings from the script, group improvisation and African dance. Rehearsals begin Feb. 12.
