Auditions will be Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 24 and 25, 7 p.m.-9  p.m. at the Thrust Theatre, 2314 S. Floyd St. Roles are available for all ages, open to gender and ethnicity. Actors may audition for one or both of the plays.

How I Learned to Drive, by Paula Vogel, is a provocative dark comedy. The play, directed by James R. Tompkins, will be presented Oct. 27-31, at the Thrust Theatre. Parts are open for a female lead and a chorus of one male and two females. Performers must be able to sing for chorus roles. Rehearsals begin Sept. 2.

Measure for Measure, William Shakespeare’s darkest comedy, deals with such contemporary themes as power of the state, religious zeal, illicit sex and hypocrisy. Directed by Rinda Frye, the play will be performed Nov. 17-21 at the Playhouse.

For their auditions, actors should deliver a prepared Shakespearean monologue in verse. Callbacks are scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 26, beginning at 7 p.m. Rehearsals begin Sept. 27.
