Board of Trustees Chairman Owsley Brown Frazier announced the extension during the board’s meeting Nov. 12. Frazier said Ramsey had agreed to extend his contract, which currently runs through 2012, at least one more year. The board has offered a contract through 2014, with an annual extension each year thereafter.
I appreciate the board’s confidence in me and look forward to serving at least through 2013, Ramsey said, noting that he agreed to the one-year extension to allow completion of a planned capital campaign and strategic initiatives that won’t be finished by the time his current contract expires.
Ramsey turns 61 on Nov. 14.
