Deshpande has organized the program “How to Transform Ourselves, Our University and the World” to show how meditation can improve someone’s personal life and that of the community. It will be Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, 5 p.m. ‒ 6:30 p.m. in Chao Auditorium, Ekstrom Library. Admission is free and open to the public.

At the program Deshpande will present scientific evidence of the power of meditation and demonstrate the effects of meditation using a device to measure the bio energy fields of several participants before and after the program.

The bio energy field “is indicative of our physical, emotional and spiritual state. When our system goes out of balance, the bio energy field is the first to be affected,” Deshpande said.

A meal will follow both sessions. Program registration is required by email.

Program sponsors are the UofL Department of Chemical Engineering, Office of the Ombuds and Get Healthy Now employee health management program.
